Manufacture of Dried Button Mushroom Powder Granule by Using Fluidized Bed Granulator

Abstract
To improve the convenience of dried button mushroom powder, dried button mushroom powder was granulated using a fluidized bed granulator. To produce the dried button mushroom powder granules, various aqueous extracts of button mushroom with a 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% soluble solid content were used as a binder. When aqueous button mushroom extracts with a soluble solid content of 0%, which contained just water, were used to produce the granules, the yield of granules was the lowest at 75.89%. The yields of granules made with the aqueous extracts of button mushroom increased with increasing soluble solid content up to 20%. The solubility was higher on the granule than the powder, and it increased with increasing soluble solid content of button mushroom aqueous extracts over 20%. The angle of repose (¡Æ), which represents the convenience, was lower on the granule than powder, and it decreased with increasing soluble solid content of the button mushroom aqueous extracts. The convenience increased when using button mushroom aqueous extracts. The 20% soluble solid content of button mushroom aqueous extracts was used to determine the finding optimization conditions to produce dried button mushroom granules using a fluidized bed granulator. As the surface response analyze results, the flow rate (FR), atomized air pressure (AP), and inlet temperature (IT) of the maximum operation response surfaces were 77.759 mL/min, 194.190 kPa, and 79.757¡ÆC, respectively. The predicted maximum yield was 91.41%. In conclusion, dried button mushroom powder granules, which are more convenient, can be prepared using a fluidized bed granulator with button mushroom aqueous extracts as a binder.
